Description
I wanted a cabled hat to match my fingerless mitts I made. So, using the same cable stitch used in my fingerless mitts, I made this simple pattern that alternates cabling and plain knit sections. The long folded brim is a standard 2x2 rib stitch and the cable stitch used is similar to the one named Trophy Cable I in the book 750 Knitting Stitches the Ultimate Knit Stitch Bible published by St. Martin's Griffin. This is an easy 8 stitch cable pattern and is good for first time cable knitters.
Special Stitches used:
C4F:
Sl 2 Kwise onto cable needle, place in front of stitches, K2, then K2tbl that are held on cable needle.
C4B:
Sl 2 kwise onto cable needle, place behind stitches, K2, then K2tbl that are held on cable needle.
Modified Cable Stitch over 5 stitches:
Sl 2 kwise onto cable needle, place in front, K3, then K2tbl that are held on cable needle.
