This absolutely adorable watermelon bookmark pattern adds a cute, summer-y feel to your reading!

The watermelon is made like an amigurumi, and then a chain string and tassel are added to make it a bookmark.

There is no gauge to this pattern, but the finished watermelon is about 1 inch long and the string is about 10 inches long. The string size is entirely customizable, so you can make it as long or short as you want.

This pattern requires knowledge of magic loops, chaining, single crochet, and half-double crochet stitches. It is worked in continuous rounds. It is beginner friendly, but working with crochet thread and small hooks can be difficult for beginners, so keep that in mind if you're new to using crochet thread.

You'll need a 2mm crochet hook and about 5 yards of red size 10 crochet thread, 2 yards of green size 10 crochet thread, and 1 yard of black size 10 crochet thread. You'll also need a needle (I use a sharp embroidery needle, not a yarn needle) to sew the pieces together and stitch on the seeds and scissors.
