This pattern for Winter Troll Mittens was initially inspired when my niece asked me for a 'Troll hat'. There were lots of patterns, but they were all very decorative and ornamental, nothing looked like it would be good for a cold wet walk to school on a damp Irish morning. So I created a hat with a puffy chain link top, perfect for a little one to feel like their favourite character, and perfect for parents to know that all ears were being kept snug and warm.

Sizes for toddler to large adult are given in the main pattern, sizes for doll, preemie, and newborn are given seperatley, without a thumb and with a side opening cuff.
