When Curt and I first started dating, we went up to his family's lake lot to go ice fishing. The cold calmness on the lake, with the clear blue sky against the bare trees and shimmering snow-covered lake, was like a magical winter wonderland. There are few moments in my life where I felt utterly at peace, but the silence on the lake, regardless of how cold it was my first time out there, brings a sense of warmth to my soul.

I pondered this snowflake design for a while, considering how best to represent all those beautiful sun-kissed snowflakes and awaiting the perfect frozen blue yarn. At last, it has all come together, and I couldn't be happier with the result. ❄️

Worked in the round, Winter Wonderland contains both cuff-down and toe-up written directions and a chart for the pattern stitch. The pattern has instructions for an afterthought heel, but you may substitute whatever heel you enjoy using.

The pattern is written for the magic loop method for knitting socks; however, the design could be worked on double-pointed needles or mini-circulars instead should you prefer.
