Unleash your inner Trekkie with a solid dose of Turtlepurl Yarns Live Long & Prosper colorway and Zion.
These cabled socks were a gift for my Trekkie uncle, and he adores them.
Originally designed as a challenge that Curt provoked, to knit socks for my uncle who thought hand knit socks are a bad idea as “wool" is scratchy… we had to prove him wrong! Knowing Turtlepurl Yarns had the Live, Long & Prosper colorway, I knew the task at hand would be pretty easy for my Spock-loving uncle. Long story short, he’s now a believer in hand-knit socks!
Worked in the round, Zion contains both cuff-down and toe-up written directions and a chart for the pattern stitch. The pattern has instructions for an afterthought heel, but you may substitute whatever heel you enjoy using.
The pattern is written for the magic loop method for knitting socks; however, the design could be worked on double-pointed needles or mini-circulars instead should you prefer.
