Preferred hook size for your yarn weight. For chunky blanket/chenille yarn you can use from 6mm to 9mm depending on how thick the yarn is.

Hook two mm smaller than the hook you use to crochet the body, e.g. if you use 6mm hook for the body then use 4mm hook for the leaf details.
