I decided to do this project in Aran with a 6mm hook. I did the pair in an afternoon and they fitted a woman with a uk size 4.1/2 foot nicely.

You're about to start row 17. Chain 2, 1 dc, 47 hdc. You probably should've have stoped at 1 rows and then slip stitched but it seemed like a pretty tight fit around you robust calves so maybe two more rows.

Finished. Super easy to follow. I do wish the pattern was fully written out (rows 3-15). And listed for each sock for easier following. Luckily this wasn’t a problem considering how simple and easy the pattern is to follow.
