You use only one color per round and carry another color through the first corner of every round. Do not cut the yarn at the end of every round. Every round closes with an invisible join. The pattern can create any size square you want. For this pattern you need at least 2 contrasting colors. You can use multiple colors, different ones for every pattern repeat. You can use any yarn, colors & appropriate hook size that suits your project. A larger crochet hook and thicker yarn will create a larger project.
