Create your own adorable axolotls with these no-sew amigurumi crochet patterns! These chunky chenille axolotls work up super quickly and are perfect for market prep or handmade gifts. I love their floppy legs and gills.

These are no-sew crochet patterns, so they are made entirely in one piece. On the larger one, the gill details and fin are crocheted directly onto the body after making the base. On the mini axolotl, just the fin is crocheted onto the body afterwards.

You will need:
Chenille yarn (weight 6) in two colors - I used Parfait Chunky
8 mm safety eyes
10 mm safety eyes
4.5 mm crochet hook
Stuffing

You will need to know the following stitches/techniques:
slip stitch
single crochet
half double crochet
single crochet increases
single crochet decreases
