A pencil-shaped bookmark crocheted flat in rows: a red base with two dark red lines worked in surface slip stitch, a light sharpened end and a dark red point. It makes a lovely gift for anyone who reads a lot, or a special bookmark for the book you read to your children at bedtime. It takes very little time and yarn, so look in your stash and get started!
Finished size is about 25 cm (10 in) long and 5 cm (2 in) wide, made with a 2 mm steel hook and DK cotton yarn in 3 colours. You can crochet it in any colour you like.
