Description
Dear friends,
Thank you for your support over my designs! This bundle pattern is significant to me because it is a product of two very special things to me - my Taiwanese heritage and my love for crocheting.
Growing up Asian American in the midwest, there were several times where people around me that would make negative comments about the food my family and I ate. But anyone must know that food is such a staple to our cultural identities! I still remember the embarrassment I felt as a kid... but thankfully, these were all valuable experiences that I learned and grew from.
Every summer, I used to visit my grandparents in Taipei, Taiwan - this lively city is also known as the hotspot for night markets! I remember walking around in the evenings in the sweltering hot summers... hundreds of food carts and vendors filling every street. The aroma of tea eggs, sticky rice, baos stuffed with savory pork, and more would fill the air. (We would even joke that the dirtier the food cart was, the better their food must have been).
Today, I see my favorite foods as a powerful means to share about who I am and the memories most meaningful to me. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy making these yummy foods.
Cheers! Amy
