Description
The Tomten 'Tude Toque is a delightful holiday hat that celebrates my Swedish heritage. This hat boasts a squishy-folded brim, a charming Tomten motif, and the option for a spiral decrease hat or a long stocking cap. Additionally, the design includes instructions for converting the hat into a cowl if preferred.
For those who are unfamiliar, the Tomte, singular for Tomten, is a character from Swedish folklore known for watching over the home and helping with various tasks. Traditionally, Tomten are depicted wearing gray wool suits and a bright red hat. While the Tomte character has gained popularity in home decor, a true Tomte is considered to be magical and carries a sense of responsibility. Traditionally, it's important to leave out Risgrynsgröt, a Swedish Christmas Porridge, as a gesture of gratitude for the hard work the Tomten does for the household. Failing to do so may result in the Tomten refusing to help, leading to a year of bad luck!
So as extra appreciation, this toque is designed keeping Tomten in my heart for the holiday season.
